How can you enjoy your lifestyle retirement?
Look at retirement as a time to do what you love, move out of you comfort
zone and try new things.
Older adults can still have a career goal and direction. It is important to
have an attitude of gratitude. Be grateful for what you have done, where you
have been and look forward to more of the same.
Most importantly, have a sense of purpose and a vision. You might not
achieve these results instantly, but keep searching.
Getting a clear perspective of WHO you are now, not WHAT you are
- Plan a daily routine and keep to the schedule.
- Reframe your attitude towards retirement; what positives do you see?
- Taking responsibility for the retirement you want, rather than relying on others to supply direction.
- Having a positive attitude to personal “wellness”. How can you improve your health? Exercise? Diet?
- Work out some goals. What do you want to achieve? What do you want to change? Do you want to start up a new business?
- Develop these opportunities.
- Learn new skills or give some of your time to working with a charity
- Think about your social life and friends to share your time.
- It is important to develop a strong partnership at home. Have you discussed any pitfalls with your partner? A healthy relationship makes for a happy retirement.
