Gill Mathias – The Reset Specialist

Helping clients reset their mindset, reclaim energy and create a life of balance, clarity and resilience.

This client, who we will call Dave needed help with CLARITY, CONFIDENCE AND COMMUNICATION. It was a tremendous experience for the client on “Internal Confidence”.

So let me talk you through “Dave’s” issues. He needed help with

1. CLARITY with his goals, change of job and lifestyle

2. Having the CONFIDENCE to believe in himself.

3. COMMUNICATION to transfer the face to face necessity; in this case to a spouse, to implement the change for a happier life.

Dave” was working a 14 hour day by leaving home to catch at train into a major city at 6am and not returning until 8pm in the evening during the week. He was exhausted at the weekends and worse was that he did not even enjoy the job. He was becoming irritable, moody and found home life difficult with his wife and children.

Dave” contacted me and it became clear that

  1. That he disliked his job and could see no promotion prospects or CLARITY on the way forward
  2. He was being drained of his CONFIDENCE with negative energies and feed- back at work.
  3. That he saw very little of his wife and children and this was causing him a lot of distress and he was unable to cope. “Dave” could have been heading for serious stress and anxiety if not some form of break-down. It was therefore important to discuss good COMMUNICATION with his wife to remain sane and develop a happier life.

It took 2 sessions for “Dave” to tell me that when he did arrive home he drank too much in the hope that his worries would go away and that he would sleep. This was important information.

After 3 sessions we had devised a plan with discussion from me and the implementation of part of the model below, which is now in action and successful in every area.

  1. He went to a local recruitment agency and 2 months later found a job only 10 minutes from his home. The remuneration was lower but when he took off the cost of his train journey for the year the salary was similar.
  2. We discussed his eating habits, how he could easily lose some weight and spend more time with his wife and children and he is certainly achieving this goal.
  3. As he was happier in his life he found that drinking in the evening was not important and that he only had a drink at weekends.
  4. After much discussion and questioning from me he had that “light bulb moment” and he decided to buy bikes for all the family – he was able to cycle to work saving the cost on his car and at weekends he went on cycle rides with his family.
  5. Dave” feared change but it was not as traumatic as he feared. He was courageous in his action. He now works less hours, is able to sometimes pick his children up from school and attend the parent/teacher meetings which had been so important to him, but he was never back from work in time… and now he is fit!
  6. Great result all round – oh yes! He lost weight through exercise and eating more sensibly with fresh food rather than processed foods.

I hope that this has been interesting to show you that change is often a positive move forward. I hope it is of interest to note some of the processes we used to achieve this positive result.
